Hi, I'm
I'm your neighbor, your City Councilmember, and an Anoka resident since 2016. I've spent the last several years fighting for the things that actually make a difference for families here — lower costs, smarter investments, and a downtown we're all proud of.
Sam Scott is a sitting Anoka City Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem who has spent his career building things — businesses, budgets, and a better Anoka. He brings the discipline of a U.S. Army veteran, the financial rigor of a Carlson School MBA, and the instincts of an entrepreneur who has invested in Anoka's commercial real estate.
He doesn't just show up to vote — he digs in. He's tackled the hard fights other leaders avoid and followed through with real results for Anoka families.
From leading the charge on organized waste collection to overseeing Minnesota's first municipal cannabis dispensary, Sam has taken on the challenges that matter most — and delivered.
Running alongside Mayor Skogquist, Sam is asking Anoka for the opportunity to keep building on what we've started together.
Six priorities. Real commitments. No fluff.
Sam led the fight for organized waste collection — saving Anoka families real money, reducing truck traffic on neighborhood streets, and protecting our roads for the long haul. Lower costs, better service, less wear.
Anoka runs its own municipal electric utility — a genuine advantage. Sam is committed to protecting that edge and keeping costs competitive so more money stays in your pocket.
The Anoka Cannabis Company has directed $8,000+ to local nonprofits. The social district draws visitors downtown. The Rum River dam remodel will create world-class recreation for every family. These aren't costs — they're dividends.
From the Gaughan mixed-use project and Green Haven renovation to pedal pubs on the Rum River, Sam is building Anoka into a genuine "play and stay" destination — broadening the tax base and reducing burden on homeowners.
Sam has championed Anoka's social district, parks, trails, and road improvements that make our community more livable for families — and keep infrastructure costs under control for taxpayers.
City government should be easy to understand and impossible to ignore. Sam is committed to open communication, rigorous financial management, and making sure every resident knows what their city is doing — and why.
More endorsements coming soon. In the meantime, we have it on very good authority that Sam is a fine young man.
I've known Sam his whole life and I can tell you — he has always cleaned up after himself, mostly. He works hard, he cares about people, and he makes good decisions. Except maybe some of the haircuts. Vote for my son.
Campaigns aren't won by candidates — they're won by neighbors talking to neighbors. Whether you can knock on doors, host a yard sign, or just spread the word, there's a place for you on Team Sam.
